Jerry Large

Jerry Large advocates that in the younger years of a childs life, the parents should be warm and comforting as to help them grow into successful and brilliant people. He says that character is a big part of future success, having the qualities of self control, zest, social intelligence, etc is better than test scores or someones IQ. He supports that kids should know failure, not too little and not too much, which will help build a childs character. He says that if parents should hug and kiss their child in the eary years more, the child will grow up to be more successful and happy. He notes that kids from the KIPP school would excell but also the kids at Riverdale Counry werent developing proper qualities. He says that the students at KIPP were taught how to deal with stress and and students at Riverdale were shielded from the possiblities of failure.

  1. O.k., good--adding quotations from Large's article would further enrich your commentary.
